Bay Point, CA – Multi-Vehicle Collision at Highway 4 and Bailey Road

Bay Point, CA (July 18, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported a multi-vehicle pile-up in the westbound lanes of Highway 4 at Bailey Road on Wednesday afternoon. The crash that reportedly involved several vehicles took place at around 12:23 p.m.

Currently, five vehicles in total have been confirmed to be involved in the collision. The crash reportedly occurred between a black Jeep, a gray Toyota Corolla, a tan Lexus, a white Kia sedan, and a gray Nissan sedan. According to the report filed by the California Highway Patrol, the driver of the Nissan was apparently traveling at an excessively high rate of speed just before the collision.

The resulting wreckage left one of the vehicles involved facing in the wrong direction on the highway, consequently blocking both lanes number 3 and 4. Three other vehicles involved were reportedly off the roadway on the right side following the impact of the crash. The vehicles that ended up blocking the highway triggered police to issue a SigAlert shortly after the collision. No more information regarding how many people were injured has been released. Likewise, the exact events of this collision are presently under investigation in order to determine liability.
