Sunol, CA – Crash Involving Dump Truck on Calaveras and Welch Creek Roads

Sunol, CA (July 18, 2018) – A crash involving a dump truck occurred Wednesday afternoon at the intersection of Calaveras and Welch Creek Roads in Alameda County, according to the California Highway Patrol. At least one person was reportedly injured following the accident that occurred between a brown Nissan Murano and a dump truck at approximately 12:20 p.m.

The driver of the Nissan apparently suffered relatively moderate to major injuries during the crash. According to reports, the injured motorist was taken to a local medical center in order to be promptly treated for their injuries. The driver of the dump truck was reportedly unharmed in the accident.

Officials from the California Highway Patrol began their investigation shortly after the crash, subsequently shutting down the east and westbound lanes of Calaveras Road for at least one hour. Authorities were still working at the scene as of 1:30 p.m. in the afternoon. There was no further information made available pertaining to the cause of this incident. Likewise, no names or specific conditions of those hurt in the wreck have been released. The events surrounding this accident are currently under investigation.
