Redding, CA – Mother and Child Hurt in Car Accident on 5 Freeway
Redding, CA (July 21, 2018) – One woman along with her young child were both injured after being involved in a motor vehicle accident on the Interstate 5 Freeway Friday morning in Redding. The accident that took place in the southbound lanes of the Interstate reportedly occurred at around 11:15 a.m., north of Cypress Avenue.
As per the initial reports, a woman was driving an SUV with her 1-year-old child when the vehicle rolled over on the interstate. Both the mother and her child were immediately transported to a local Redding hospital to be treated for any injuries they sustained during the crash. Neither the names nor the specific conditions of the victims have been available at this time.
Investigators reportedly have reason to believe that the SUV was forced off the Interstate by another motorist, subsequently causing the accident. The report states that the other vehicle was merging onto the Interstate from Highway 44, and their maneuver allegedly forced to SUV to swerve and ultimately overturn. No more information has been released concerning the events that led to the accident or the identity of the other driver involved. An investigation into this crash is ongoing at this time.
Our sincere thoughts and prayers are currently with both the injured mother and child as we warmly wish for their full recoveries.
California Car Accident
Authorities will be attempting to locate the driver who forced the SUV off the roadway and caused the crash. Once found, there will likely be charges filed for causing an accident that resulted in bodily injury, which will also result in solid grounds for a personal injury lawsuit. Many people opt in favor of filing a lawsuit due to the immense expenses that follow a sudden injury, however, the decision to file a claim for financial compensation is a terribly personal one that can only be made by the victim.
