Victorville, CA – Teenager Injured after Bicycle Accident on Northbound Amargosa Road
Victorville, CA (July 26, 2018) – Local authorities reported that a teenager was injured as the result of a bicycle accident that took place along northbound Amargosa Road near Palmdale Road. Authorities logged the accident at approximately 8:20 PM at night on Wednesday, July 25, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the teenage bicyclist and the motorist involved in the crash has been revealed.
According to initial reports, a 16-year old girl was riding her bicycle down a sidewalk on Amargosa at the same time a 2006 Toyota Corolla was leaving a Tom’s Restaurant. Without warning, the Toyota collided with the girl, and she was sent flying as a result of the impact. Furthermore, the vehicle briefly dragged her bicycle.
Later, rescue crews responded to the crash site and took the girl to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where she received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities confirmed the woman who had been driving the Toyota stayed at the crash site and spoke with officers, as obliged by law. Investigators have determined DUI was not a probable cause.
As of now, the investigation is ongoing. As more evidence continues to surface, more information will be released to public sources.
Bicycle Accident in Victorville
Given the circumstances, investigators have already ruled out the possibility that the motorist and bicyclist had consumed drugs or alcohol prior to the crash. Meanwhile, forensic investigations will include a thorough examination of the bike and the Toyota for mechanical issues or system failure. Recklessness and speeding may also be considered as potential contributing factors.
Depending on the final results of the investigation, the bicyclist may have the choice to file a personal injury lawsuit and, ultimately, receive compensation for inconveniences including medical bills and painful injuries.
