Jamul, CA – Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Hit-and-Run at State Route 94 and Steele Canyon Road

Jamul, CA (July 27, 2018) – According to a report filed by the California Highway Patrol, a pedestrian was tragically killed by a hit-and-run driver early Friday morning on Highway 94 in San Diego County. The fatal crash that occurred at or near Steele Canyon Road reportedly took place at approximately 3:29 a.m.

As per the report, the pedestrian was struck in the roadway by a red pickup truck that fled the scene immediately after the accident. Another motorist driving a white Toyota truck witnessed the crash and pulled up on the scene to keep traffic from striking the critically injured victim again. Another witness followed the suspect who was traveling in a pickup and reported it driving in the direction of a local 7-11 convenience store.

Sadly, the victim of the collision was pronounced dead, and it is currently unknown whether or not the police located the suspect. No more information has been made available at this time, and the name of the victim has not been released. The events that led to this accident are currently under investigation by authorities.
