Ventura, CA – Motorist Severely Injured after Single-Vehicle Accident and Alleged DUI at South Victoria Avenue and Olivas Park Drive

Ventura, CA (July 30, 2018) – A Venture local news source reported that a motorist was severely injured as the result of a single-vehicle accident and suspected DUI incident that took place at the intersection of South Victoria Avenue and Olivas Park Drive. The incident occurred a little before 2:25 AM in the early morning hours on Monday, July 30, 2018. At this point, no additional details about the 38-year old male motorist and his passenger have been revealed.

According to reports from Ventura police, an unidentified vehicle swerved out of control and crashed into a nearby traffic signal along South Victoria and Olivas Park. Later, firefighters and paramedics were dispatched to the crash site and provided immediate assistance to the victims.

Officials reported the male driver’s legs were pinned beneath the dashboard of his wrecked vehicle. Rescue crews successfully extracted the 38-year old motorist and transported him to a nearby trauma center to receive treatment for traumatic injuries. The passenger was held for observation at a local hospital, as well.

Later, authorities reputedly arrested the motorist for driving under the influence of alcohol, but he was released due to requirements of extensive treatment.
