Van Nuys, Los Angeles, CA – Officials Identify Traffic Officer Killed during Brutal Collision on Victory Boulevard
Van Nuys, Los Angeles, (July 30, 2018) – Los Angeles local news sources have provided updated information about the traffic officer who died after a brutal collision in the 15200 block of Victory Boulevard. The incident occurred at approximately 7:15 AM in the morning on July 27, 2018. As of today, authorities have identified the victim as 45-year old Gregory Park, an officer for the Los Angeles Department of Transportation. No details about the driver who crashed into the officer have been revealed at this time.
As the primary report stated, Officer Park had stepped outside of his vehicle to hand out a parking citation when, without warning, an oncoming vehicle plowed into him. Officials confirmed the motorist in question had been in an unrelated accident involving a second vehicle, prior to the collision with the traffic officer.
Later, Officer Park was transported to a nearby hospital where, sadly, he died from his injuries. Law enforcement officials confirmed he had served with the LADOT enforcement through the Valley office for 12 years.
Officials did not specify if the motorist remained at the crash site and cooperated with authorities.
Presently, an investigation into the cause of this deadly accident is ongoing.
We extend our most heartfelt prayers and deepest condolences to the family, friends, and coworkers of Officer Gregory Park and wish them peace of mind and strength during this difficult, tragic time.
