Riverbank, CA – Two Adults and Two Children Injured after Suspected DUI Accident on Highway 108 near Skittone Road
Riverbank, CA (August 1, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol recently reported a brutal traffic accident that took place along the eastbound lanes of Highway 108, in the vicinity of Skittone Road near Riverbank. The incident happened at approximately 6:25 PM in the evening on Monday, July 30, 2018. CHP has recently identified the culprit driver as 24-year old Oakdale resident Rhiana Beasley and the second driver as 66-year old Modesto resident Robert Steele. No details about Beasley’s passengers, a 6-year old boy and a 3-year old boy, have been released at this time.
As CHP officers explained, Beasley had been driving a 2013 Chrysler along Highway 108 and veered into opposing traffic in the westbound lanes. As a result, her vehicle slammed into an approaching 1996 Jeep driven by Steele. Within moments, Steele attempted to swerve out of the way, but, ultimately, the two vehicles collided.
Sometime later, paramedics arrived at the crash site and confirmed the 6-year old boy sustained severe injuries, while the 3-year old was moderately injured. Beasley and her two passengers were confirmed to have been wearing seatbelts prior to the accident.
Steele, who had also been properly restrained, sustained traumatic injuries and required more in-depth medical aid.
Authorities later arrested Beasley for causing the crash on the grounds of suspected DUI.
However, officers did not confirm if the boys were Beasley’s sons.
We extend our most heartfelt prayers and loving thoughts to the victims of the accident and wish them swift and efficient recoveries from their injuries.

DUI is a serious offense in the State of California and can result in severe punishment based on several factors, including blood-toxicity level and the brutality of the accident. Based on initial reports, Ms. Beasley has been suspected of driving under the influence of alcohol and may be held fully responsible for causing the accident and injuries sustained by three victims, including two boys.
Depending on the final results of the case, the non-guilty injured victims can ultimately pursue a personal injury lawsuit against the culprit and receive compensation for multiple inconveniences including painful injuries and medical bills.
