Castro Valley, CA – Motorcycle and Vehicle Collide on 580 Freeway and Redwood Road

Castro Valley, CA (August 10, 2018) – According to a report released by the California Highway Patrol, a motor vehicle accident between an SUV and a motorcycle transpired on the Interstate 580 Freeway on Friday afternoon. The crash was reported to have occurred at approximately 3:50 p.m. near the Redwood Road off-ramp in Castro Valley.

Reports stated the motorcyclist who has not been identified at this time was riding his bike on the freeway when he became involved in a collision with a black SUV for reasons that have not been determined. The man who was riding his motorcycle was reported to have been seen on his feet following the crash. The rider was walking near the center divider of the interstate.

It is believed that medical personnel was called to the scene, however, there was no word as to the injuries suffered by the victim. The driver of the SUV has not been identified at this time, and whether or not they were injured in the accident is unknown. No further information has been provided in regards to this crash as investigators are currently working to establish the events that took place here.
