Mt. Shasta, CA – Three People Die after Collision between Pickup Truck and Motor Home on Northbound Interstate 5 near North Mount Shasta Boulevard

Mt. Shasta, CA (August 13, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that three victims died as the result of a collision between a pickup truck and a motorhome that occurred along the northbound lanes on Interstate 5, in the vicinity of North Mount Shasta Boulevard. The incident happened at approximately 12:58 PM in the afternoon on Sunday, August 12, 2018. At this time, no detailed information concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash has been revealed.

According to the CHP report, the pickup truck and the motor home were traveling along I-5 when, for indeterminate reasons, the two vehicles collided near North Mount Shasta. The resulting impact shoved the two vehicles over the interstate’s right shoulder and down an embankment near the road. Within seconds, the truck and home burst into flames.

Sadly, officials confirmed one occupant of the truck and two people riding in the motor home died during the impact.

Authorities are currently looking into a potential cause for the fiery crash.
