Palmdale, CA – Woman Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash on 45th Street East
Palmdale, CA (August 11, 2018) – A pedestrian was reported to have lost their life following a motor vehicle accident that transpired on 45th Street while the victim was pushing a shopping cart on Saturday night, according to a local and reputable news source. The injurious collision was reported to have occurred in the vicinity of Avenue R at approximately 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.
The Palmdale Sheriff’s Department stated that a woman in her 60’s was struck from the north side to the south side while pushing a shopping cart across Avenue R. A Honda Civic was reported to have been traveling eastbound along 45th Street when it struck the pedestrian for reasons that are currently unknown.
Paramedics along with officials from the Los Angeles County Fire Department were immediately called to the scene where they, unfortunately, pronounced the victim dead. Reports did not indicate whether or not the driver of the Honda Civic stopped at the scene to offer assistance or cooperate with authorities.
No further information was made available in regards to the events that led to this crash. Authorities are actively conducting an investigation into this accident in order to determine liability.
