Rio Oso, CA – One Dead Following Head-on Collision on Kempton Road and El Centro Boulevard

Rio Oso, CA (September 1, 2018) – A report released by the California Highway Patrol stated that a fatal head-on collision took place Friday afternoon, August 31, on El Centro Boulevard (Highway 70) and Kempton Road in Sutter County. The deadly crash that also resulted in injuries was reported to have transpired at approximately 12:34 p.m.

Officials from the California Highway Patrol confirmed that two vehicles were involved in the accident. The two vehicles are believed to be a green Honda Civic and a red Honda sedan that collided at the location. The impact of the crash left several people trapped inside the vehicles. Fire department personnel were called to the scene to safely extricate all the parties involved.

Paramedics and other emergency responders arrived on the scene to assist the victims. At least one person was confirmed to have died from their injuries while at least one other victim sustained moderate to serious injuries as a result of the collision. The injured party was immediately transported to a local hospital for treatment.
