Bakersfield, CA – Boy Sustains Injuries in Pedestrian Accident near Hillcrest Park
Bakersfield, CA (November 2, 2018) – A teenager was sent to the hospital on Thursday after being hit by a truck near a Bakersfield park. According to authorities, the accident was reported at approximately 3:40 pm on Thursday, November 1 at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the boy was jogging with a group of friends or a possible track team at Hillcrest Memorial Park when a truck slowed to a stop to let them pass. Suddenly, another truck crashed into the rear of the stopped truck. The force of the impact pushed the truck forward causing it to hit the teenager. Police and firefighters were dispatched to the crash site and the injured boy was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment for the injuries he sustained upon impact of the crash. The physical condition of the boy was not immediately provided. Authorities are working to determine what led to the accident.
