Pomona, CA – Man Loses his Life after Muliple Accidents on I-10 near Fairplex Dr
Pomona, CA (November 6, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that a man lost his life in a tragic accident early Tuesday morning in Pomona. The accident occurred in the early morning at approximately 4:30 am on Interstate 10 near Fairplex Drive.
The initial report indicates that a Toyota Corolla was traveling on Interstate 10 heading eastbound when it suddenly crashed into the rear of a tractor-trailer. The force of the impact caused the Corolla to become disabled near the median where moments later it was broadsided by an oncoming Toyota Prius driving in the carpool lane. It remains unclear if the male driver of the Corolla was inside the vehicle when the second collision took place. He ended up on the westbound side of I-10 and was subsequently hit by two oncoming vehicles as they collided while trying to avoid hitting him. Emergency responders were immediately called to the scene to render aid to the unidentified male victim but he sadly did not survive his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police did not disclose the condition of the other drivers involved in these collisions. Officials closed off the carpool and No. 1 lanes on both sides of the freeway in an attempt to clear the wreckage from the roadway. Authorities are conducting a full investigation to establish the events that led up to this fatal accident.
