Fresno, CA – Motorcyclist Dies in Fatal Motorcycle Collision
Fresno, CA (December 9, 2018) A fatal motorcycle collision happened at the intersection of Blackstone and Nee avenues near River Park shopping center. Officials reported that a man in his 50’s rode a motorcycle west on Nee Avenue as an SUV was turning into a parking lot. The two vehicles collided into each other for unknown reasons. Unfortunately, when emergency crews arrived at the scene, the motorcyclist had already passed away. Crews shut down both streets as they worked to clear the scene and investigate the accident. The driver of the SUV stayed at the scene and cooperated with the police. The accident is currently under investigation.
Our hearts go out to the family of the deceased motorcyclist. We know how difficult it is to lose a loved one, especially in a motorcycle accident that possibly could have been prevented.

Unfortunately, studies show that motorcyclists are 35 times more likely to suffer fatal injuries than occupants in a passenger vehicle. One of the reasons why it’s so easy for motorcyclists to suffer injuries is because the only bodily protection they wear is a helmet, which doesn’t protect the rest of their limbs. Therefore, immediate impact with another vehicle could easily cause spinal cord injuries, fractured bones, internal damages, or traumatic brain injuries.
The police are currently gathering evidence to determine what led up to the crash and who should be held responsible. Once the police get to the bottom of what caused the collision, it’s possible that the motorcyclist’s family could file a wrongful death lawsuit.
