Bicycle Accidents in California
Recent studies show that in 2016, 18,477 bicyclists suffered injuries after being struck by vehicles in the United States. Although bicycles aren’t considered vehicles in the state of California, the rules of the road still apply to them, which means they deserve the same respect and care as other vehicles. Bicyclists usually get injured when drivers fail to check their blind spots, drive under the influence, open doors in front of them, or turn in front of them.
Investigators are looking into this accident to figure out who will be held liable. They’re checking who had the right of way, road conditions, mechanical conditions, weather conditions, and whether negligence played a role. Once they conclude their report, the injured bicyclist could file a personal injury lawsuit with the help of an attorney.
