Modesto, CA – Irene Arellano Lopez Killed in Hit-and-run Accident
Modesto, CA – (December 13, 2018) — The pedestrian killed in a hit-and-run accident on December 5thhas been identified as 59-year-old Irene Arellano Lopez, of Modesto. The accident took place at Pelandale Avenue and Chapman Road at an unknown time.
According to the initial report, Lopez was just a few blocks from her home in Modesto when she attempted to cross the street and was hit by an oncoming vehicle. Police and firefighters were dispatched to the scene where they found Lopez had suffered fatal injuries in the roadway. The vehicle involved was later found by police about three miles from the crash site and has been identified as an older-model Volkswagen Jetta. Unfortunately, they have still not found the driver who killed Lopez. Anyone with information that may help police find the suspect
