Pedestrian Accidents in California
The reason pedestrians are hit every day in the United States is mainly due to the lack of attention from drivers. Although law requires drivers to yield as they approach pedestrians, most drivers don’t see pedestrians because they’re too busy on their phones, driving under the influence, conversing with a passenger, falling asleep at the wheel and more. There are times where both the driver and pedestrian are responsible for an accident, or sometimes just the pedestrian. If the pedestrian is held partially liable, then the amount of compensation they’re eligible to receive decreases. Once the police determine causation and liability for this accident, the injured victim may be able to file a personal injury lawsuit.
