Pedestrian Accidents in California
Pedestrian fatality rates continue to rise in California and the number one reason is because of driver’s error. Whenever drivers fail to yield for pedestrians due to high cell phone usage, fatigue, speed, or alcohol consumption, pedestrians are at risk of being seriously injured or killed. Despite California laws requiring drivers to yield for pedestrians no matter who has the right of way, drivers continue to strike pedestrians every day.
The police are currently investigating what led up to this accident and if the driver will be held fully responsible. They’re checking to see if there were any hazardous road conditions or if speed was a factor. They’re also checking who had the right of way and if negligence contributed to the accident. Once they conclude their findings, Coe’s family may be able to file a wrongful death lawsuit with the help of a California wrongful death attorney.
