Bloomington, CA – Deadly Pedestrian Accident Along Cedar Avenue
Bloomington, CA (December 23, 2018) On the evening of December 21st, a deadly pedestrian accident happened along Cedar Avenue. According to the reports, a 2015 Toyota Tundra struck a 25-year-old named Troy Fredrick Varnado for unknown reasons. Varnado walked in the traffic lanes while the vehicle headed north. Unfortunately, the driver proceeded to drive off without helping the injured victim. A sedan also struck Varnado shortly after the first vehicle. When the paramedics arrived at the scene, Varnado had already succumbed to his injuries. He was found in the roadway at 6:31 p.m., just south of Marygold Avenue. Officials found the first vehicle parked and vacant on Magnolia Street, but they haven’t located the second vehicle yet. The police are currently searching for both drivers as they investigate the accident.
Our condolences go to Varnado’s family as we know it’s devastating to lose a loved one, especially in an accident that could have possibly been prevented.
Pedestrian Accidents in California
Recent studies indicate that about 65 percent of all hit-and-run accidents involve pedestrians and lead to fatalities. The reason hit-and-run accidents occur is usually due to negligent behavior, which includes driving under the influence, speeding, falling asleep at the wheel, and more. The most disappointing aspect of hit-and-run accidents is drivers not staying to help injured victims. There’s a possibility that some lives could have been saved if the driver would have stayed at the scene to call an ambulance. Because of multiple negligent acts, families qualify to file wrongful death lawsuits when they lose a loved one in a hit-and-run accident.
At Brady Law Group, we have the skills and knowledge necessary to help our clients win their wrongful death claims. We work tirelessly on our clients’ behalf because we don’t believe they should be held financially responsible for damages caused by another person’s negligent behavior.
