Somis, CA (December 26, 2018) On the 23rd of December, DUI accident happened along Highway 118. According to the reports, a Honda Accord was struck head-on by a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck at around 12:20 a.m. The impact of the collision caused the Silverado to roll onto its roof and the Honda Accord to go off the roadway and crash into a power pole. When emergency crews arrived, they found the 18-year-old driver of the Honda Accord, Elmer Pinacho, dead at the scene. They arrested the other driver, 41-year-old Ramon Trujillo-Ravelo, and charged him with gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI causing injury, and driving with a 0.08 percent blood alcohol content causing injury.
We are sorry to hear that Pinacho lost his life in this accident. We send our condolences to his family as they try to work through this challenging time.
Vehicle Accidents in California
Recent studies show that an average of 29 people lose their lives every day in alcohol-related vehicle accidents. When drivers have a blood alcohol concentration level of 0.08 percent or higher, they put themselves and others at serious risk of being injured or killed. As levels increase, drivers lose their ability to safely control vehicles, as was the case in this accident. Drivers who consume too much alcohol are more liable to speed and violate traffic laws.
Because this accident was a clear case of negligence, Pinacho’s family could file a wrongful death lawsuit to help them recover compensation for funeral costs, property damage, and more.
At Brady Law Group, we have over two decades of experience helping families file wrongful death lawsuits and obtaining winning verdicts. We know how unfortunate it is to lose a loved one, which is why we help families win large settlements to help cover all damages and losses.
