Watsonville, CA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Main Street

Watsonville, CA (December 25, 2018) On the 24^th of December, a fatal pedestrian accident happened at the intersection of Main Street and East Beach Street. According to the reports, a GMC pickup truck struck a 61-year-old woman at the intersection for unknown reasons. The truck was in the process of making a left turn when it struck the woman who was walking within the marked crosswalk. The accident happened at around 3:00 p.m. near Watsonville Plaza. When the paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the woman lying in the roadway and seriously injured. They transported her to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, she later succumbed to her injuries. The 33-year-old female driver responsible remained at the scene and cooperated with the police. Crews shut down Main Street and Beach Street as they investigated and cleared the scene.
