Newbury Park, CA – Pedestrian Accident on Highway 101

Newbury Park, CA (December 27, 2018) On the 24th of December, a pedestrian accident happened on Highway 101 at Lynn Road. According to the reports, California Highway Patrol officers had been following a reckless driver on the freeway starting from Central Avenue outside of Camarillo. A white Nissan Altima had been on the highway swerving in and out of lanes, and at some points crashing into the center divider. The driver continued to speed over the Conejo Grade, even though one of the front tires was blown out. The vehicle finally crashed near the Lynn Road interchange and hit a Caltrans employee who was on duty working in the area. When emergency crews arrived, they found that the employee was suffering from minor injuries. The police revealed that the reckless driver had been suffering from a medical issue. There were two other vehicles involved in the collision but no further information has been released. The accident is currently under investigation.
