Rancho Cucamonga, CA – One Person Killed in Pedestrian Accident on 210 Freeway

Rancho Cucamonga, CA (January 20, 2019) – Police responded to a pedestrian accident that took place along the 210 Freeway on Friday evening, which is allegedly a hit-and-run accident.

The collision took place around 7:30 p.m. just east of the Archibald Avenue exit. At the time, the pedestrian, whose name has not yet been released, was standing outside a car that had been stopped along the right shoulder of the freeway. A passing vehicle went by and struck the pedestrian.

When fire department officials and paramedics arrived at the scene, they found the pedestrian’s body lying on the ground outside the driver’s side door. The victim was tragically pronounced dead at the scene. At this time, the family is being notified before the name is released.

The driver who struck the pedestrian did not stay at the scene of the accident and instead fled the area. The suspect vehicle was located abandoned about a mile away but the driver was not in it.

The investigation into the matter continues at this time.
