Mecca, CA – One Person Struck by Truck in Highway 111 Pedestrian Crash

Mecca, CA (January 24, 2019) – On Wednesday, January 23, one person was struck by a truck in a pedestrian crash that took place at the intersection of Highway 111 and Wheeler Street.

Police responded to the accident around 10:08 a.m. to find that one unidentified person was struck by a truck and injured. The man was trapped underneath the semi-trailer and responding firefighters worked to extricate the victim from the vehicle.

An air ambulance responded to the scene of the accident. However, police did not report on the condition of the pedestrian when he was taken from the scene. No names have been released at this time.

Police are still investigating the circumstances that led to this accident.
