Yuba County, CA – Two Killed in Fatal Accident on Highway 70
Yuba County, CA (February 2, 2019) – Two people were killed in a fatal accident on Highway 70 and have been identified as a 33-year-old and 37-year-old, according to police. Police say that 33-year-old Roberto Ledesma III and 37-year-old Lillian Leal lost their lives and two others received serious injuries.
The accident took place on Wednesday morning on Highway 70 around the area of Ramirez Road at 11:20 a.m.
Allegedly, Ledesma had been driving a Honda southbound on the highway when his vehicle suddenly drifted in the other lane and struck a Chevy driven by Jeanne Kendall. Kendall was not able to avoid the collision and the two vehicles crashed with one another.
Ledesma had not been wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle at the time of the crash. Ledesma and his passenger died at the scene of the crash. Two others were taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
At this time, the California Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
