Santa Cruz Mountains, CA – Brookdale Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 9

Santa Cruz Mountains, CA (February 14, 2019) – On Tuesday around 2:25 p.m., a Brookdale man was struck and killed in a pedestrian crash that occurred at the intersection of Highway 9 and Larkspur Street.

The accident, according to police, happened at the aforementioned intersection. The pedestrian was identified as a 47-year-old man from Brookdale. Police say that he had been on the roadway when, all of a sudden, he was struck by a 57-year-old man driving a 2010 Ford F-350.

The man stopped after he struck the pedestrian and claimed that he never saw him in the roadway. He is cooperating with the investigation.

The pedestrian was tragically pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. His name has not been released.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash at this time.
