Riverbank, CA – Robert Dale Rodgers Killed in DUI Accident on Claribel Road

Riverbank, CA (February 14, 2019) – 64-year-old Robert Dale Rodgers, of Salida, was killed in a tragic DUI accident that took place on Claribel Road around 7 p.m., while another party was arrested.

According to police, 56-year-old Larry Boyd, also of Salida, had been driving a 1982 Chevrolet Silverado while intoxicated. The vehicle was driving into the area east of Langford Road, where a 2016 Ford F-150, driven by 23-year-old Travis Chamberlain, of Portola, was disabled on the roadway and partially blocking the lane.

Boyd, who was intoxicated, was unable to stop because he did not notice the vehicle’s hazard lights. The Chevrolet ran into the back of the Ford, which caused it to continue onward and drive off the side of the road.

Rodgers, sitting in the front passenger seat of Boyd’s truck, was left with serious injuries and taken to the hospital, where he tragically passed away due to severe trauma.

Boyd suffered a variety of injuries as well and was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and gross vehicular manslaughter.
