Pollock Pines, CA – Fatal Pedestrian Accident on Highway 50

Pollock Pines, CA (February 18, 2019) – Police claim that, on Sunday afternoon, a pedestrian was killed in a fatal accident that took place on Highway 50. The pedestrian was hit by a vehicle around 1:48 p.m. in the eastbound lanes of the highway.

The California Highway Patrol stated that a black Jeep Cherokee struck the pedestrian before it crashed into a line of trees. Four vehicles pulled over to assist the victim when they saw the collision.

Firefighters and paramedics responded and attempted life-saving procedures but were unsuccessful. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.

The victim has not yet been identified by the coroner. At this time, police say that the accident remains under investigation.
