Selma, CA – Meghan and Scott Martzen Injured, Son Killed in DUI Accident on Bethel Avenue
Selma, CA (February 26, 2019) – On the evening of February 23rd, a fatal DUI accident happened on Bethel Avenue at around 10:00 p.m. According to the reports, a 35-year-old named Karmjit Singh was driving a BMW at 100 mph when he ran a stop sign and crashed into a Kia that carried three occupants. The impact of the crash caused the Kia to slam into a tree, which left the three occupants stuck inside.
When the paramedics arrived, they extricated the three occupants and transported two of them, 29-year-old Meghan Martzen and 33-year-old Scott Martzen, to a nearby hospital for broken bones. Unfortunately, their 8-year-old son died at the scene.
The police arrested Singh on DUI charges, and he may face more charges since he was driving on a suspended license due to a previous DUI charge in 2016.
This horrific accident is still under investigation.
