Highland, CA – Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident at Baseline Street Intersection

Highland, CA (March 1, 2019) – On February 24, police responded to the scene of a hit-and-run pedestrian accident at the intersection of Baseline Street and Sterling Avenue. The pedestrian who was injured in this accident had been in a wheelchair at the time.

Police have since identified the suspect of the accident at 37-year-old Desiree Shante Every. Every struck a man in a wheelchair who was crossing the intersection around 2:30 a.m. Paramedics were immediately called into the scene.

The man in the wheelchair allegedly suffered from life-threatening injuries. Every did not stop at the scene of the accident and instead fled the scene.

When police caught up to Every, they arrested her on suspicion of hit-and-run that ended in injuries. The accident investigation continues at this time.
