Tulare County, CA – Driver Uriel Sanchez Lopez Killed After Running Stop Sign in Tulare County

Tulare County, CA (March 2, 2019) – On Friday, March 1, at around 6:40 p.m., a driver passed away and his passenger sustained injuries in a car accident, after the driver of a Kia Soul ran a stop sign and was struck by a big rig truck.

The accident took place at the intersection of Road 44 and Avenue 376, southeast of Kingsburg.

The driver was identified as 19-year-old Uriel Sanchez Lopez, of Selma. He was driving with a 19-year-old female passenger who was also from Selma.

The passenger needed to be extricated from the vehicle and was taken to Kaweah Delta Medical Center in Visalia for treatment of her injuries.

When the Kia moved into the Road 44 intersection, it was then hit by a southbound big rig, which led to the truck hitting a second car that was moving northbound on Road 44. There were no injuries in the third automobile.

Lopez passed away at the scene.

We extend our most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Uriel Sanchez Lopez and send healing thoughts out to the passenger who was injured during this incident.

If You Are A Passenger Who Is Injured In An Accident in Califonia

If the person who was driving the car that the passenger was injured in during the incident is determined to be at fault, you have the legal right to file a claim against the driver’s insurance policy. That will allow you to receive financial compensation for injuries, pain, and suffering.

However, if you are a passenger who is injured in a car accident you must be able to prove two statements: liability of the drivers and damages. If the accident involved two cars, it is a given that one of the drivers will be liable. A passenger injury claim works just like any other type of car accident claim, except that the passenger would make the claim against both drivers if it was a two-car accident. Hiring a personal injury attorney can help you wade through the legal aspects of your case.

When you are injured as a passenger in a vehicle accident, you have many rights. Bringing forward a claim for damages will help you recover without worrying about medical expenses. Brady Law Group is able to help you during this difficult time. Please contact us to find out what we can do for you at (866) 478-6483.
