San Jose, CA – 62-Year-Old Woman Dies After Being Hit By Truck At San Jose Airport
San Jose, CA (March 3, 2019) – A 62-year-old woman passed away on Thursday, February 28th, from injuries she sustained earlier in the week when she was struck by a pickup truck at Mineta San Jose International Airport.
This was the city’s eighth fatal collision just this year. The accident happened at about 1:10 p.m. Monday, February 25th, on the first floor of the Terminal B parking garage.
The woman was hit by a 2018 Ford F-150 as she was pushing a luggage cart west through the garage. The truck had entered the garage and was heading south.
The woman was taken to the hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries. The driver was a 29-year-old man, and he cooperated fully with officers and remained at the scene. There was no evidence of drugs or alcohol use within the collision.
The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office has not yet released the victim’s name, pending notification of her next of kin. The victim was the sixth pedestrian to be killed in a traffic accident this year.
