Antioch, CA – Two Teens Tragically Lose Their Lives and 4 Others Injured in Fatal Car Accident
Antioch, CA (January 14, 2019) On the 11th of January, a fatal car accident happened involving two teenagers at the intersection of Lone Tree Way and Indian Hill Drive. According to the reports, 17-year-old Leana Rubin lost control of her vehicle and overcorrected right before crashing into a tree along the roadway.
When emergency crews arrived, they found Rubin and a 13-year-old passenger name Jaia Lightner fatally injured as a result of the crash. Lightner was an eighth-grader at Delta Vista Middle School. Four other teenagers were also injured in the crash, which included a 13-year-old girl, a 16-year-old boy, and two 17-year-old girls. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
The police are currently investigating this accident, but they believe wet conditions played a role in causing Rubin to lose control of her vehicle.
