Apple Valley, CA – Fatal Traffic Accident on Central and Powhatan Roads

Apple Valley, CA – (November 29, 2018)- A fatal multi-vehicle collision took place this morning at the intersection of Central and Powhatan roads. Apple Valley authorities were notified of the crash around 6:00 am.

According to the initial report, a 2006 Chevy Avalanche pickup truck and a 2000 Honda Civic were approaching an intersection in Apple Valley when one of the vehicles failed to stop and t-boned the driver’s side of the Honda. Emergency crews were dispatched to the crash site and rushed to render aid to the injured victims. Firefighters discovered that the driver of the Honda was suffering from major injuries and sadly died at the crash site. Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup truck was trapped inside suffering from major injuries. Firefighters were required to extricate the driver from the vehicle before rushing the victim to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment. The victim was then flown from St. Mary’s to a nearby trauma center for emergency surgery. One other unidentified person was suffering from injuries and was hospitalized. It was unclear whether to subject was in the pickup or the Honda. The Apple Valley Major Investigation Team was conducting an on-scene investigation for several hours after the crash. A stretch of Central Road was also shut down following the accident.
