Atwater, CA – 19-Year-Old Uziel Martinez Injured in Fatal Head-On Collision
Atwater, CA (January 13, 2019) On the 10th of January, a fatal head-on collision took place at the intersection of Shaffer Road and Palm Avenue. According to the reports, 19-year-old Uziel Martinez was driving a 2007 GMC Yukon on Shaffer Road when he moved into the southbound lane and tried to pass a Jeep Grand Cherokee. However, Martinez ended up crashing head-on into a Toyota Camry instead.
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found several people suffering from injuries. Martinez, the 43-year-old driver of the GMC Yukon, and two of his passengers were all transported to a local Modesto hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries. Unfortunately, the driver of the Toyota suffered fatal injuries.
No further information has released regarding this accident. The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation to determine causation and liability.
