Bakersfield, CA- Fatal Big Rig Accident on 5 Fwy in Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA (June 25, 2019)- A multi-vehicle accident on the Interstate 5 Freeway left two people dead on Sunday at approximately 5 pm.

According to reports, the crash occurred when a Lincoln traveling in the northbound lanes veered over the center and into the southbound lanes. The Lincoln then hit a big rig and crashed into a third vehicle. Following that collision, the Lincoln hit a Ford Mustang head-on.

Two individuals in the Lincoln passed away at the site of the crash, while two individuals in the Mustang suffered from moderate to major injuries.

The identifications of the injured and deceased have not been made available to the public at this time.

An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway.
