Bakersfield, CA – Fatal Motorcycle Collision with Large Gravel Truck on Granite Road

Bakersfield, CA (July 19, 2018) – A motorcycle rider collided with a large semi on South Granite road late Thursday morning which resulted in the death of the cyclist, according to the California Highway Patrol. The deadly accident purportedly transpired shortly before noon at 11:59 a.m., as per the initial report.

Officials from the California Highway Patrol were immediately dispatched to the scene of the accident. The reports stated that the cyclist, who was riding a three-wheeler motorcycle at the time, ultimately collided with a very large gravel truck. The company vehicle ended up overturning as a result of the accident.

An air ambulance was called to the crash site and landed shortly after in order to attend to the victims. Unfortunately, the motorcycle rider was unable to survive the crash as authorities confirmed that the rider was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. There was no more information pertaining to the truck driver and if they were injured during the accident.

The tractor-trailer had to be brought back into an upright position by a heavy-duty tow truck before being hauled away. The events that led to this accident are currently under investigation.
