Pedestrian Accidents in California
Recent studies revealed that nearly 6,000 pedestrian fatalities occurred in California last year. The leading cause of all pedestrian accidents is driver’s error, which includes distracted driving. When drivers decide to text, fall asleep at the wheel, drive under the influence, groom, eat, or any other distracting activity, they’re putting themselves and pedestrians at serious risk of being injured or killed. California laws require that drivers yield as they approach pedestrians, but drivers won’t be able to do that if they’re partaking in distracting behavior.
The police are currently investigating this accident to determine why two vehicles crashed into Scheer. If negligence played a role, then Scheer’s family could file a wrongful death lawsuit against the two drivers.
