Bakersfield, CA – One Injured in Pedestrian Accident at Breckenridge Road and Monica Street

Bakersfield, CA (July 29, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported a crash involving a pedestrian and resulting in their injuries that took place early Sunday morning in Bakersfield. The injurious collision that reportedly involved the pedestrian and one vehicle occurred in the vicinity of Breckenridge Road and Monica Street at around 2:20 a.m.

The report that was released by the California Highway Patrol stated that the pedestrian had been walking in the area of the intersection when they were struck by a vehicle. However, whether or not the victim had been walking in a marked crosswalk was not specifically provided in the initial report.

Paramedics were quickly dispatched to the scene of the incident in order to assist the injured pedestrian. Upon their arrival, the paramedics reportedly found the victim lying down in the road near the intersection. The injured victim was immediately transported to Kern Medical Center with unspecified injuries.

Neither the name nor the condition of the victim has been made available at this time, and there was no more information released in regards to the events that led to the crash. The investigation into this accident is ongoing.
