Bakersfield, CA – One Person Hospitalized after Two Vehicles Collide at Airport Drive and Roberts Lane

Bakersfield, CA (July 24, 2018) – The California Highway Patrol reported that one person required hospitalization after a two-vehicle collision that took place at the intersection of Airport Drive and Roberts Lane. CHP first received news about the incident at approximately 9:54 PM at night on Sunday, July 22, 2018. At this time, no details concerning the identities of the people involved in the crash have been revealed.

According to the report from CHP, a black SUV and a silver car, described as a 4-door model, were driving in the Bakersfield area when, for indeterminate reasons, both vehicles collided at Airport and Roberts.

Afterward, emergency teams were dispatched to the crash site and rendered aid to one victim who sustained non-life threatening injuries from the impact. Later, this individual was taken to a nearby hospital to receive more in-depth treatment.  The current physical condition of the victim has not been disclosed.

As a result of the accident, authorities shut down westbound lanes of traffic along Airport and Roberts.

Presently, investigators are still looking into possible causes of the crash. As more evidence continues to surface, more information will be released to public sources.

Two-Vehicle Accidents in Bakersfield

At this time, many issues surrounding the two-vehicle accident on Airport Drive and Roberts Lane remain unresolved. As part of the ongoing investigation, officials will consider if either driver had consumed drugs or alcohol prior to operating their vehicles or if they had simply failed to comply with basic traffic laws. Furthermore, forensic teams will analyze photos of the crash site and inspect the SUV and car for mechanical issues or system failure. By taking these factors into account, law enforcement officials can determine liability.

If authorities determine one driver negligently operated a vehicle, the non-guilty victims can pursue a personal injury lawsuit and, ultimately, receive compensation for medical bills, vehicle insurance, painful injuries, and additional inconveniences.
