Beaumont, CA – DUI Head-On Crash Injures 6 at Sixth St. at Beaumont Ave.

Beaumont, CA (May 12, 2019) – A head-on crash occurred on May 11 just after 2:45 p.m. that sent a total of six people to the hospital – two with critical injuries.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this injury accident.  According to CHP officers, the crash occurred along Sixth Street at Beaumont Avenue and involved two vehicles

The driver of a 4-door, white Lincoln, was speeding down westbound. Upon reaching Beaumont Ave. the driver ran through a red light and collided with a red passenger van, causing it to overturn. This briefly trapped some of the occupants. Two of the injured were children. Emergency responders were called to the scene to render aid.

The driver of the Lincoln attempted to flee the scene, but he was held by witnesses until police arrived. He was believed to be under the influence. He was also injured in the crash and was transported to an area hospital.
