Berkeley, CA – Luvette Monarque Killed & Four Injured In Crash On Haste St.

Berkeley, CA (June 2, 2019) – A multi-vehicle accident involving a speeding Tesla occurred on May 31st at 11:47 p.m., that took the life of one person, 36-year-old Luvette Monarque, and injured four others.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident. According to CHP officers, the crash occurred in the 2200 block of Haste St.

The crash started by a speeding Tesla which hit a Ford Fiesta and a Dodge pickup truck. The Fiesta was struck two parked cars and then caught fire. Monarque was one of the four passengers in the Fiesta and was sitting in the back seat.

Both Monarque and a 32-year-old woman who had been sitting next to her had to be extricated from the automobile. The other woman is listed as in critical condition. The two other passengers in the Fiesta were also hospitalized for injuries.

In addition, one of the passengers in the Tesla was hospitalized after the crash. Police said speed contributed to the collision.
