Berkeley, CA- Serious Injuries in Bicycle Crash at Shattuck Ave and Cedar St

Berkeley, CA (June 27, 2019)- A bicycle crash at the intersection of Shattuck Avenue and Cedar Street left a man with serious injuries on Sunday at approximately 11:35 pm.

Berkeley Police spokesperson Officer Byron White reported the cyclist was moving westbound on Cedar Street when he was struck by a vehicle as he attempted a left-hand turn on Shattuck Avenue.

Emergency medical personnel responded to the crash site and transported the victim, a 24-year-old Berkeley man, to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries.

The 31-year-old Berkeley resident whose vehicle was involved in the crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
