Bloomington, California – Three Dead, One Injured After Fatal Car Accident on Slover Avenue
Bloomington, California (June 25, 2018) – Local news sources reported that three people were killed, one injured during a deadly car accident on Slover Avenue, near Locust Street. The incident took place at approximately 8:30 AM on June 24, 2018. The San Bernardino County coroner’s office identified the deceased victims as 20-year old Angel Jaureguis, 17-year old Jose Manuel Jaureguis, and 13-year old Andrea Jaureguis. Authorities also identified the living victim as 49-year old Maria Luna Jaureguis, the mother of all three of the deceased.
California Highway Patrol reported that Jaureguis and her children were walking down Slover Avenue. At the same time, 19-year old Leonardo Bravo was driving his Dodge Challenger at high speed eastbound. Eventually, Bravo lost control and swerved the Dodge onto the sidewalk. Without warning, he struck the family before slamming into a nearby wall.
Sadly, the three Jaureguis children suffered from traumatic injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene. At the same time, paramedics transported Maria Luna Jaureguis to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, where she received treatment for non-life threatening injuries.
CHP confirmed Bravo did not flee the scene of the crime and provided necessary information to the police. Authorities have not revealed if he sustained any injuries from the crash.
Reports indicate funeral expenses for the deceased Jaureguis children will be raised via a GoFundMe Page. As of now, the investigation is ongoing.
Bloomington Wrongful Death and Personal Injury Lawyer
As per the report, it appears that the driver of the Dodge will be held responsible for causing the accident and, ultimately, the deaths of the three pedestrians and injuries of their mother. News sources indicated he was driving above the legal speed limit and may have been a participant in a street race just before the accident occurred. Further investigations will reveal if additional factors like mechanical failure, system failure, or substance abuse contributed in any way.
If the driver is found guilty of causing the accident and ensuing deaths, Maria Luna Jaureguis will have the legal right to pursue a personal injury lawsuit. Additional family members will have the rights to pursue a wrongful death lawsuit for the deaths of the three children. By seeking legal assistance, these individuals can receive compensation for issues including medical bills, tragic loss, and painful injuries.
