Police Officer Injured in Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Accident
Bonsall, CA (December 5, 2018) On the morning of December 4th, a hit-and-run motorcycle accident happened on the Interstate 15 Freeway according to news reporters. Around 6:30 a.m., a uniformed lawman rode his motorcycle on the freeway when a silver Ford Fusion sideswiped him and proceeded to drive off. The accident happened on the part of the interstate near Camino Del Rey. Emergency crews arrived at the scene and tended to the police officer. The police officer stated that the Ford had blue dealership plates that said “El General” in yellow lettering. Witnesses saw the Ford exit at Gopher Canyon Road and then returned south on the freeway.
We hope the police officer recovers from his injuries as we know how severe injuries can be.
Motorcycle Accidents in California
Studies show that 50 percent of motorcycle accidents involve other vehicles. The reason passenger vehicles collide with motorcycles so often is because most drivers don’t pay attention to motorcycles since they’re smaller and harder to see on the road. When drivers partake in negligent activity, they put motorcyclists and other drivers at risk. It’s harder to notice motorcyclists on the road when drivers decide to check their phones, converse with passengers, eat, apply makeup, or fall asleep at the wheel. Once the police capture the driver of the ford, the injured officer could file a personal injury lawsuit to help cover current and future medical expenses.
