Brentwood, CA – Male Victim Identified in Fatal DUI Accident on Hwy 4 Near Balfour Rd.

Brentwood, CA (May 12, 2019) – A 51-year-old man who died in a fatal head-on collision Monday, May 6 has been identified as Jose Guadalupe Munoz Padilla from Ripon in San Joaquin County.

California Highway Patrol responded to the scene of this fatal accident.  According to CHP officers, the crash occurred around 4:35 p.m. on Monday at eastbound Highway 4, east of Balfour Road.

Jan Kristian Gyllstrom, a 46-year-old Concord man, had swerved his 2018 Honda SUV over the double yellow line into oncoming traffic, colliding into Padilla’s 2013 Toyota Corolla.

Gyllstrom was not hurt and was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI.
