Burlingame, CA- Fatal Accident on Golf Course Drive and Interstate 280
Burlingame, CA (March 15, 2019)Â – Major injuries and one death resulted from a collision Wednesday, March 13, at 3:40pm at the intersection of Golf Course Drive and the Interstate 280 off-ramp.
A California Highway Patrol report stated that the crash occurred when a Volkswagen Golf driven by a 16-year-old from Redwood City turned left off of the freeway to Golf Course Drive and hit a 2002 Hyundai Santa Fe. The impact of the crash caused the Hyundai to roll over, injuring the driver and two passengers.
One of the passengers, an 87-year-old woman, died from her injuries while being transported to the hospital. Both the driver and the second passenger suffered major injuries.
The driver of the Volkswagen and her passenger were unharmed in the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
