Canyon County, CA – Meaghan York Killed in Fatal Crash at Intersection

Canyon Country, CA (February 13, 2019) – Police identified the woman who lost her life in a fatal accident as Meaghan York, who was involved in a serious three-vehicle collision. The accident took place around 11:24 p.m. on February 11.

21-year-old York, of Canyon Country, tragically lost her life in an incident that took place at the intersection of Soledad Canyon Road and Sand Canyon Road. 20-year-old Joshua Austin, of Santa Clarita, had been driving his Ford Ranger pickup truck westbound when he failed to stop at a red light. This caused his vehicle to collide with York’s Hyundai Elantra that was also going through the intersection at the time.

A Toyota Prius then became involved in the accident, though police have not reported how this occurred.

Meaghan York was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The driver of the Toyota received minor injuries in the accident and was taken to the hospital.

Joshua Austin was arrested on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter while driving under the influence of alcohol, with gross negligence.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident at this time.
