Carmel Valley, CA – 18-Year-Old Margo McNally Arrested After DUI Crash on Carmel Valley Road
Carmel Valley, CA (July 14, 2018) – A teenage girl and an older woman were both seriously hurt following an alleged DUI crash Thursday night on Carmel Valley Road, according to a local news source. The initial report stated that the two-vehicle collision took place at around 7:40 p.m., just east of Country Club Drive.
The California Highway Patrol report stated that 18-year-old Margot McNally was traveling west on Carmel Valley Road in a Nissan Pathfinder just before the accident. McNally apparently failed to negotiate a curve and subsequently crossed over the double yellow line. The young woman who was allegedly driving at a high speed then veered into the eastbound lane and crashed head-on into a GMC Suburban.
The front-end of the Suburban reportedly burst into flames immediately after impact. The 69-year-old female driver of the Suburban had to be quickly rescued from the burning Vehicle. She was promptly transported to Natividad Medical Center for treatment of a broken leg. A 16-year-old girl from Carmel Valley was riding in the passenger seat of the Pathfinder at the time of the accident.
The teenage passenger was reportedly not wearing her seatbelt and she was taken to the trauma center. McNally also had to be hospitalized for the injuries she suffered in the collision, and she was later charged with DUI and causing bodily injury. McNally was allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol which resulted in the accident, however, investigators are still establishing the events that led to the crash.
We would like to offer our most heartfelt sympathies to all the victims of this unfortunate accident.
